A 24-year-old deaf and mute cricketer from Nashik, Vijay Sanap, has been included in the Indian team that will play in the Asia Cup Cricket Tournament for the deaf and mute scheduled to begin in Lahore, Pakistan, from November 22.

NASHIK: A 24-year-old deaf and mute cricketer from Nashik, Vijay Sanap, has been included in the Indian team that will play in the Asia Cup Cricket Tournament for the deaf and mute scheduled to begin in Lahore, Pakistan, from November 22. The second edition of the tournament will be played in Lahore from November 22 to December 2.
Five teams— India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and the host Pakistan — are in the fray.

Defending champs Pakistanwill be vying to retain their title.
Sanap, who plays under the regular as well as the special group category, has been a key player in the Indian team. During the inaugural series held in 2007 in Sri Lanka, Sanap took the Indian team in the final with a whirlwind 95 runs in the semi- final against Sri Lanka. He also scalped three victims with his accurate off-spin bowling to lift the man-of-the-match award.
